The VW remote start has only been available for a few years. This has been an aftermarket addition many VW owners been asking for many years. Its the most popular modification among VW owners. However, while remote start has taken off for many American manufactures in the United States, many foreign automotive manufacturers have been very slow to add this feature due to regulations in other parts of the world. In Germany, where VW is based, it is illegal to have a remote start.
